LWHS hosts 8th graders & parents on Jan. 10

LAKE WALES – Lake Wales High School will hold a special Open House on Tuesday (Jan. 10) for parents of current 8th grade students.

The 8th Grade Parent Meeting will start at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the LWHS Auditorium. Parents will learn about programs, classes and extracurricular activities. School leaders also will discuss the transition from middle school to high school.

During the school day on Tuesday, 8th graders from McLaughlin Middle and Bok Academy will have a chance to visit LWHS classrooms, talk to high school students and eat lunch at the school.

“This is always a very exciting time for middle school students,” said LWHS Principal Donna Dunson

Following the Tuesday student field trip and Tuesday evening parent meetings, the 8th grade students will register for 2012-2013 high school courses in their Social Studies classes on Wednesday.
